Infrastructure Informative ...virtual reality experience allows for potential customers to get a feel for a product before a formal launch “ It’s nearly impossible to set up a large job site inside a convention center, so STANLEY Infrastructure got creative at this year’s American Rental Association (ARA) show in New Orleans. Attendees who stopped by the STANLEY Infrastructure booth were treated to a novel concept: a virtual reality product demonstration. Stepping into the virtual reality booth of- fered an immersive experience for attendees, who were instantly transported to one of three different environments. Attendees were given control to interact with our new portable power product and test out how it might be applied to their needs. “Virtual reality is a powerful tool that we’ve been using to show real-world use cases to STANLEY Infrastructure customers,” offered Michael Murdock, Creative Director at TriHelix , the vendor for the STAN- LEY virtual reality demonstration. “We’re not just showing images or videos, we’re taking the custom- er on a virtual field trip to show how they can improve their work- flow with STANLEY Infrastructure products. VR is going to have a huge role in the future of digital marketing.” Of course, we aren’t going to just drop you down into a VR jobsite without some knowledge of the product you’re about to test, so the VR experience initially delivers the viewer to a showroom where a narrator introduces the benefits of the product. From there, the guest then has the choice of engaging in different environments, choosing between providing power on a construction site, in a large out- door event space, or in a more fun capacity. In each venue, the view- er then has the option to plug in equipment and evaluate runtime and function for their needs. Dave Paolinellie, an ARA at- tendee who experienced the STANLEY product demonstra- tion at the show, told us, “I thought the virtual reality ex- perience was pretty impressive. The walkthrough and the graphics were realistic and held my inter- est.” For STANLEY Infrastructure, com- VIRTUAL REALITY (VR) OFFERS NEW DIMENSION FOR PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONS STANLEY Infrastructure is open to new technologies and innovative ways of putting our tools in your hands. As a way to bring multiple job sites and realistic testing to a trade show booth, we part- nered with virtual reality (VR) specialists to create real-world VR use cases for an exciting new product. 4
